Quentin Geczy
Quentin Geczy’s rowing journey is a story of resilience, teamwork, and leadership. From his early days as a student-athlete to competing as a varsity rower at Yale, Quentin has embraced the values of dedication and discipline, both on and off the water.
Quentin began rowing in secondary school, where the sport’s challenges ignited his passion for competition and growth. At Yale, he balanced a rigorous academic schedule with a 20-hour weekly training commitment. His proudest moment came in 2019 when his team won the Eastern Sprints Championship, securing both a first-place finish and the team points trophy.
Rowing also tested Quentin’s resilience. He endured multiple injuries, including a career-ending accident in 2021. These setbacks fueled his determination and shaped his leadership skills, inspiring his transition to medicine.
Rowing taught Quentin the importance of teamwork, critical decision-making, and leading by example. Today, he mentors aspiring rowers and student-athletes, helping them navigate challenges and achieve their goals.
Now pursuing his MD, Quentin applies the lessons from rowing to his studies and life, proving that the values instilled by the sport transcend the water.
